President Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize for effort, not for actually accomplishing anything.
The Norwegian Nobel Committee said it honored Obama for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." [emphasis added]
Ridiculous.

There is only one way to explain this. The Nobel Committee so detests the United States, at the least the United States that elected George W. Bush, that it was willing to totally debase its award to make a political statement.
I am starting to believe that the world has gone mad.
The Nobel Peace Prize committee realized that no one takes anything they do seriously. So they decided to do the most ridiculous thing possible in an attempt to compete with Letterman for the Emmy for best humor by perverts.
