Spreading the wealth

I had last night's debate playing on my computer screen while I was destroying cars on my Xbox 360 playing "Burnout: Paradise City." Word is that Sen. Barack Obama has purchased ads in a variety of video games, and I'm kinda hoping that I get to destroy some Obama-themed cars.

The winner in last night's debate was as determined by a secret, highly technical method which I like to call "My Opinion" was John McCain.

Not that it matters. McCain won on points, but when you've got the media covering for Obama as they do, Obama would have to commit seppuku on the stage in order to lose this.

Obama is where he is in the polls for one reason: the economy.

If the media spent half the time on the root cause of this economic collapse that they spend on Bristol Palin's love life, then it would be Chris Dodd, Barney Frank and the other Democrat protectors -- like Barack Obama -- of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae that would be looking for new jobs come Jan. 21.

Newsweek's Evan Thomas said a few election cycles ago that the media's leftward tilt was worth 15 points for the Democrats. He later revised that down to five. Well, that should be just about what they need to win this time around. What is the MSM's credibility worth to them? A Democrat in the White House.

I've got Fox News' "Special Report" paused in the other window because I need to quote Mort Kondracke of Roll Call word for word.

What Obama, if he was smart would say: "Spread the wealth. What I mean by 'spread the wealth' is to create opportunity. That's what America has always done. Is to give people...

At which point he was rudely interrupted by Brit Hume who had the audacity to point out that Mort was doing some Bolshevik Storytelling. That's not what America has always done. That's not what Obama means by "spread the wealth." But even a centrist like Kondracke buys this manure.

Speaking of manure, if you were unclear on what will happen to dissenters in an Obama administration, wonder no more.

With 15 minutes of fame comes 15 hours of “gotcha” scrutiny — especially if you’re a voter who has dared to criticize Barack Obama, the liberal media’s Chosen One for president.

Ohio plumber Joe Wurzelbacher has had his 15 minutes of fame, capping it off with an unplanned appearance as the poster boy of populist tax policy in last night’s presidential debate. So now it’s time for the press to turn its sights on him not as a human-interest story but as an investigative subject.

Jonathan Martin of The Politico was among the first out of the gate, with blog posts noting that Wurzelbacher, affectionately known by most of America as “Joe The Plumber,” has a tax lien against him and doesn’t have a plumber’s license. Martin conveniently forgot to mention that the law doesn’t require one.) Bloomberg also has a story on the tax lien, and AP and The Washington Post did their part to make a story out of the “unlicensed” non-story.

Over at DUMB (Democrat Underground Message Boards) they posted Wurzelbacher's home address.

No big deal, you say? Well, when a militant pro-life organization posted the addresses of abortionists online several years back they got sued -- and lost -- for millions of dollars under the RICO act. (Yes, they did more than just post the addresses -- but have you been to DUMB lately? I'm going to call it a wash on the level of implied threat.)

These last few weeks are going to be a wild ride, but I'm skeptical that McCain can pull it out. (With comments like this one, he probably deserves to lose.) In the current media-political environment, it may be technically impossible for a Republican to win the presidency.

However, I'll say it now and I'll say it clear: McCain will have no one to blame but himself for a loss. What McCain should've been screaming for months and should start doing tomorrow -- is making sure that everyone knows that Barack Obama is not a middle-of-the-road Democrat. Like Bill Clinton before him, Obama promises a middle-class tax cut. Like Bill Clinton before him, Obama will break that promise.

Republicans borrow and spend. Democrats tax and spend. Obama won't be able to afford all of his programs without more money -- and he won't borrow. So he's going to raise taxes. The only ones who have a chance of escaping them are the ones who don't pay any income taxes in the first place.

Let Obama deny it. Let the media fact-checkers call him a liar, but McCain should make it clear that Obama will raise taxes. Obama's economic policies will not fix the mess we're in today, but will deepen and lengthen the pain.

Vote for Obama at your own risk.

  1. COLLEGE students:

"Spread the Grades" (think about it)

    If you have a 3.5-4.0 GPA = 3.0
    If you have a 3.0-3.40 GPA = 2.8
    If you have a 2.8-2.99 GPA = 2.6
    If you have a 2.6-2.7 GPA = 2.4
    If you have a 2.0 - 2.5 GPA = 2.2
If you are failing GPA = 2.0

We will use the GPA credits we collected from the fortunate students
to raise the GPAs of the less fortunate students. This will insure that those students that have lower grades will have the same success that those who have good grades have had. We feel that this will insure a fair distribution of grades AND make
it more FAIR in the job market after our students leave college.
We feel that this will attract more highly qualified students to our
institution and increase the academic standards as well. Those
students who cannot make good grades will not be at a disadvantage
when thay look for a job. It will also insure that any student can
take any course and pass. Our institution will produce the best and
brightest people who will lead the world!
We will also implement this same "spread the grade" program for our engineering, technical, medical and dental schools as well!!!! Think of the professionals we can graduate!!!! We will also be eliminating all entrance requirments so as to open more opportunities to all students.
This is only fair, as this type of program may soon be implemented in the real world.
We want to stay abreast of the real world so as to better prepare our students for life after collage!
Remember...study hard for good grades ...or not, someone else will
    carry you through.
IF YOU DON"T SUPPORT ACADEMIN WELFARE>>>DON'T SUPPORT GOVERNMENTAL WELFARE!
    think about it!!!!
