What to say?

I haven't written anything on the war going on between Israel and the terrorist group Hezbollah for the past week or so because there's not much that can be said that hasn't been said by someone at some point.

On Monday, former CIA director James Woolsey appeared on the Fox News Channel and advocated the U.S. should start bombing Syria. You've got the Europeans whining about the "disproportionate" response from Israel and, oh, now that you mention it, it might be nice if Hezbollah stopped whatever it was doing.

You've got the typical whining about the "cycle of violence" -- a cycle that always gets its start when terrorist groups attack Israel, not the other way around.

Former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir's words still ring true today: “We will have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us.” We haven't reached that point yet, and frankly that point is nowhere in sight.

So, what is to be done? I think Israel is doing it; destroy as much of Hezbollah as is possible while minimizing civilian casualties -- a difficult task when the terrorists purposely hide among the noncombatants.

What about the U.S.? Well, I think we're finally doing this right too by running interference for Israel.

Iraq, Afghanistan, southern Lebanon -- these are all fronts in the war on Islamofascist terrorism. No one should begrudge Israel its fight.
