Separation of Church and State

Yesterday was Easter – probably the most holy of days in the Christian religion. It is the day that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. That fact was the focus of services in churches throughout the world, except for one.

As Obama worshipped with 700 others for two hours, the parishioners and preachers made him a focal point of the service.

Now, maybe this is just faulty reporting. After all, the odds are that the reporters who attended this church that morning last saw the inside of one when someone died.

But, let’s assume the reporting is accurate.

The Allen Chapel AME Church in Southeast Washington has a problem. Their savior wasn’t sitting in the pew surrounded by Secret Service agents. Putting their faith in Barack Obama – or any other politician – is folly.

Here’s hoping they learn that.
