I don't like this

Aside from Israel -- a democracy -- I don't think much of selling a bunch of advanced weaponry to various Middle East countries. Heck, I wouldn't sell Saudi Arabia a prop plane until they got this Wahabbi stuff out of their system and got open-minded enough to allow their foreign Christian workers to worship legally in that country.

I don't have a problem with the U.S. arming democracies -- it's the despots that usually get us in trouble.

The article posits that this is a "signal of resolve" to Iran. Sorry, but I don't buy it. If Iran can't be dissuaded from its pursuit of nuclear weapons by the United States, arming the Saudis isn't going to provide any added pressure.
