That culture of corruption thing

Despite the continuing low-level rumble of the Mark Foley scandal, the Democrats seem to have largely abandoned their "culture of corruption" talking points.

Why?

Two reasons.

First, there still isn't $90,000 in my freezer.

Second, Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid violated disclosure rules (at the very least) when he failed to report that he traded $400,000 worth of land for an interest in a LLC. An interest which later turned into $1.1 million.

As Captain Ed notes here and here, there may be more to this than a simple failure to fill out the right form.

On a side note, the mainstream media still seem far more interested in a GOP pervert than Democrats and their shady business deals if the priority given the stories is any indication.

*UPDATE* Thanks to the folks over at Newsbusters, we have the following scorecards on Harry Reid's little problem.

Nightly newscasts
ABC: Foley, Yes; Reid, No
NBC: Foley, Yes; Reid, practically no
CBS: Foley, Yes; Reid, No

Morning news shows:
ABC: Foley, Yes; Reid, No
CBS: Foley, Yes; Reid, No
NBC: Foley, Yes; Reid, No

  1. Can't wait til you can claim 2 billion liberals oppressed. Keep up the good work. Good blogs find their way to conservative talk radio ocassionally thus gaining broader audience and more impact.
