Do as I say, not as I do

Today we're going to point and laugh at Illinois Sen. Barack Obama. Obama, like many on the left, is all for having people drive more fuel efficient cars -- of course, "senators" are not "people" -- they're better than people. So at a town hall meeting the other night, Obama encouraged people to buy hybrid vehicles, then left the event in an GMC Envoy.

This caused enough embarassment so that one of Obama's staffers responded by saying that the Obama's Envoy runs on E85 Ethanol.

Tommy Vietor, Senator Obama's press secretary, explains: "What Senator Obama has long advocated is the use of vehicles that are more fuel efficient, including but not exclusively hybrids.

"The vehicle senator obama travels in while in illinois is a Flexible Fuel Vehicle (FFV), which can run on e85, a blended fuel made of 85 percent ethanol.

"So he in fact was practicing what he preached at the town hall meeting in Metropolis yesterday when he said we must drive fewer gas-guzzling vehicles."

Apparently Sen. Obama has a "special" GMC Envoy, because according to the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition, the GMC Envoy is not E85-capable.

Oops.

  1. He's a Senator. That's royalty - heck, even Cynthia McKinney is royalty, and she's a member of the lower house. How dare you question these hypocrites. Why the next thing you know, you'll be criticizing Barbra Streisand in her massive mansion for telling us what to drive and how to dry our wash.

She's royalty, too. If you criticize her, why then you'll criticize Robert Redford for flying to the Sundance Festival in a private jet, using more fuel in one trip than we'll use in our lives. He's royalty, too you know.

Then you'll start on Al Gore... Why, there might even be the equivalent of the French Revolution where they hang all the royalty. Then where would we be? No more royalty to tell us what to do?

What would you do then? Would you go to the beach or watch TV? Life would be tough if we didn't have our betters to tell us what to do.

It is impossible to parody these jerks.
