On foreign policy

The big foreign policy news of the day was the 12-2 vote in the U.N. Security Council to place sanctions on Iran that are neither “crippling” nor “have bite,” but are instead little more than “annoying flies.”

That we’ve waited 18 months to get this would be laughable if the result wasn’t that Iran is that much closer to having a nuclear weapon.

This foreign policy is juvenile and naive. Obama is like an awkward high school student who desperately wants a girl to like him, but his pathetic neediness only earns her disdain. Today’s security council resolution is little more than a drive-by egging of Iran – and Obama says he’s still willing to talk!

Today, in the other interesting bit of foreign policy news, Obama hosted Palestinian “President” Mahmoud Abbas at the White House. There were cameras and press there and everything.

Contrast that treatment with that received by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a few months back. No cameras, no media, nothing.

Obama treats our friends like dirt and our enemies like gold. This earns us the distrust of our allies and the contempt of our foes.
