This probably shouldn't sway anyone one way or another when it comes to who you vote for come November, but it says something about the silliness of various Congressional resolutions honoring this day or that day and this thing or the other thing. I report this having been the one who pointed out in the 2004 presidential race that then-candidate Howard Dean had posted a Dec. 25 message on his Web site that contained none of the following words: "Christmas," “Jesus,” “Christ,” or “Savior,” despite the fact that he had said it was a priority for him to reach out to religious voters.
I was cruising through Sen. Obama's site looking for some other information when I came across his list of press releases.
Of course, March 23 was Easter Sunday and that doesn't get a nod of the proverbial head from the Obama campaign. The holiday also didn't get a press release from Sens. Hillary Clinton or John McCain either.
However, neither Clinton nor McCain recognized Purim or the Persian New Year either.
The oversight probably shouldn't tell you a lot about the Obama campaign, but it probably should tell you a little.
