Loading ...Democratic Rep. Jack Murtha has solved one of those pesky problems facing President Barack Obama as he moves to close down the terrorist detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Murtha is offering a minimum security prison located in his district for the terrorists.
Suspected terrorists at the military’s detention center in Cuba are “no more dangerous in my district than in Guantanamo,” Rep. John Murtha told Fox News on Wednesday.
Murtha is … how to put this diplomatically … a complete and utter moron. As a reporter I’ve been in three different federal prisons — a Level 1 “country club,” a Level 3 medium security prison and a Level 5 federal penitentiary. Periodically, people would escape. Usually they were “walk-aways” from the camp, but once two guys got out of the Level 5 facility and weren’t caught for months.
I realize that Murtha is seeing high-paying union jobs for his district, but his naivete regarding the type of people who are incarcerated at Guantanamo Bay is astounding. Here’s hoping that Obama isn’t quite this stupid.
