Duke's replacement

My main criteria for convicted Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham's successor is twofold: I want him/her to keep their trousers buckled and keep their hands in their own pockets.

I've been getting a plethora of campaign mailers over the past month and hae been mostly disinterested in them. Many candidates are running either on their biography or promises to "clean-up" Washington. *yawn*

Perhaps the most outspoken politician taking this tack is the Democrat favorite, Francine Busby. Busby's television commercials started airing late last week and she touts all of the new prohibitions on lobbying that she will pass if elected. The tone of the commercials make it sound like she is running for president -- maybe even emperor -- instead of becoming the most junior member of the minority party.

A Democrat isn't going to win this district no matter how hard they try -- GOP and Democrat collusion on California's redistricting have seen to that, so Busby's commercials become little more than poor entertainment between programs I really do care about seeing.
