The War Against ISIS

In this age of social media, the Obama Administration has made a much of their public relations efforts against various evils around the world. First Lady Michelle Obama famously held up a piece of paper with the #BringBackOurGirls hashtag after the Islamic terrorists of Boko Haram kidnapped more than 200 girls for use as sex slaves.

This strategic use of hashtag diplomacy resulted in Boko Haram returning exactly zero kidnapped girls.

When Vladimir Putin annexed the Crimean region of Ukraine, then-State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki (since promoted to White House communications director), stood up and said the U.S. government was #UnitedForUkraine.

This "United" spirit didn't include providing arms to an overmatched Ukrainian military, but did include medical supplies and MREs. After a weekend-long sustained tweeting campaign, Russian strongman Putin caved and returned exactly 0 square feet of territory back to Ukraine.

You can almost picture the First Lady and Ms. Psaki there in the White House comparing their medals.

Then comes House minority leader Nancy Pelosi to tout the Obama administration's victories in the war against ISIS (via HotAir).

FMR. REP. PATRICK MURPHY, MSNBC HOST: This past week, though, when it comes to ISIS, the mixed result — unfortunately, Ramadi was taken over by ISIS. The same time, the army’s delta force captured the money man for ISIS in Syria. so obviously mixed results. So you think the strategy’s working? What else needs to be done?

REP. NANCY PELOSI: It’s an enormous challenge. And we have to fight it on every front, including the front of social media. That’s a place where they have really made more advances than you would have suspected. And that is where we have to fight them, as well. This apprehension in Syria — well, killing of one and taking of his wife, as well as important intelligence information was a success. Again, we have to fight them on all fronts. Communication-wise as well as militarily.

"The Obama administration totally has ISIS covered on MySpace. We're trending against ISIS on Twitter and the number of Likes on our Facebook page really shows that the world is behind us in our battle against ISIS."

Yazidi girls are raped, Christians are beheaded, a Jordanian pilot is burned alive, and just last week,  ISIS took over the Iraqi city of Ramadi. But the top Democrat in the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, wants you to know that we're winning on social media.

Please make the stupid stop.
