Stop! You're killing me!

There's been quite a bit of hubbub the past couple of days after it was revealed that some State Department contract employees had accessed Sen. Barack Obama's passport file. After the junior senator from Illinois expressed appropriate outrage that he was the target of dirty tricks, it was further revealed that contract employees had also accessed the passport files of Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. John McCain.

This prompted The New York Times non-partisan, principled opinion page today to demand an investigation.

Hollywood loves sequels. So, apparently, does Washington.

In 1992, when it looked like a Democrat was about to take the White House from the Republicans, someone at George H.W. Bush’s State Department rifled through Bill Clinton’s passport records.

Well, it’s another election year, and people at George W. Bush’s State Department have been at the passport files again. This time, at least, the sleazy behavior seems more bipartisan.

Oh my gosh. George W. Bush's State Department? Since when? That's a laugher. What evidence does the Times have to suggest that Foggy Bottom is anything more than an entrenched, left-wing bureaucracy that yields to no Republican president?

This outraged editorial becomess even more hilarious as the news develops.

From left-leaning blogger Attytood comes this interesting tidbit:

OK, the tin foil hats are out 🙂 ...ready?

1) The office that handles passports, consular affairs, is indeed run by a woman named Maura Harty, who's a....wait for it -- Clinton administration holdover. Remember, no one has implicated her or any State Department employees -- the two people who were fired were contract workers.

And then this morning comes this bit of news from CNN:

The CEO of a company whose employee is accused of improperly looking at the passport files of presidential candidates is a consultant to the Barack Obama campaign, a source said Saturday.

John O. Brennan, president and CEO of the Analysis Corp., advises the Illinois Democrat on foreign policy and intelligence issues, the source said.

Brennan briefed the media on behalf of the campaign this month.

The executive is a former senior CIA official and former interim director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

He contributed $2,300 to the Obama campaign in January.

But by all means let's fall in step behind the Times editorial page and start a witch hunt into President Bush's role in all of this.

  1. Why not state that the CEO of Stanley, Inc. (the ohter contractors) has contributed to the Clinton campaign?

  2. Aislinn, you are right. The other contractor is a backer of Clinton. The only one who should be pissed is McKain and he has shown no interest on the dumb conspiracy. Not even an acknowledgment that he care about people looking at his passport.

Also HRC wasn't the one who created a media circus around a non-issue. It was Obama who started "preaching hate" and winning about his passport and now it turns out that his own people are part of the "conspiracy" against him.

The guy is a joke. He is nothing more than a sleazy used care salesman who would used his own grandmother to sale a lemon (himself) ....

Wait a minute ... Didn't he just used his grandmother to try to explain his association with the racist priest/church ??

  3. Barack people have to create another scandal so their latest unforgivable one can be forgotten.
Condoleeza Rice "apologized" to Barack, racing the mini scandal to higher lever. Oh, thats so sweeeet. The blacks are merging together because Barack has to win.. He has to prove that a black guy can beat a white person. He doesnt really care about Americans, duh, he actually hates Americans. He wants to be in power so he can get even from all the "sufferings" he got from white Americans, you know, when White Americans made him drink and do drugs. When white americans didnt give him a cab ride. Oh, wait, those cabdrivers are somalis and jamaicans who knows they would be rob. Barack just stop spinning, everybody knows what you are now.

  4. Obama can't help himself. He is a socialist paranoid candidate who will turn this country into chaos. How much of double talk does he have to do before we realize that this guy is a fake and he will push black agenda. He creates so much divisiveness but he almost claim he is above all that. What a hypocrite, and it is sad that Americans don't see this happening right front of them. This guy must be be stopped or else we will be no more than a socialist country.

  5. Ok here's the deal...Why is it ok for a white person to say that they were uncomfortable when around blacks, but it's not alright for blacks to say the same thing? I like Obama am a mixed race person so, I totally get what he's talking about. For most of my life I've seen a lot of racism towards me from "white" people. My life experience made me a bitter person, I for a long time didn't want anything to do with whites. People need to think what it would be like if the shoe was on the other foot. What if you were the only white person in a class full of black people, what if you were in the streets and you were the only white person? Blacks have been put in this situation over and over again and have been told to just deal with it. On the other hand if whites were in the same situation it's understandable why they are uncomfortable no? I have learned that people are people and there are plenty of awesome white people around, but it does suck that there are still racist people out there. There's no such thing as a "black" agenda. Why not question clinton's preacher or hair stylist? What's the point of questioning wright? Why not see where Obama stands on the issue. Like me Obama understands were the black people are coming from, but also understands were the whites are coming from. Hopefully this leads to open dialog of ideas.
