The tolerant left

There's a simple reason that I'm never going to wear my politics on my car in the form of ribbons, bumper stickers or anything else -- expressing views contrary to liberal orthodoxy is viewed by far too many on the left as a license to vandalize.

Case in point: Marine Sgt. Mike McNulty's car was keyed because he has a Illinois Marine license plate. And the perpetrator is a lawyer.

I encourage you to read the entire report over at Blackfive, but the short of it appears to be that scum-sucking bottom-dweller Jay R. Grodner is going to get away with more than $2,000 worth of vandalism because McNulty is deploying to Iraq shortly.

But remember! They support the troops.

  1. This is a troubling thing. If it becomes a widespread trend, one segment of the American political spectrum will largely have been silenced. The perpetrators will note that their strategy worked, and will adjust fire to silence other displays of political affiliation.

Free speech for me, but not for thee, indeed!

  2. He needs to be disbarred and/or fined heavily. Lawyers need to be held to higher ethical standards than everyday citizens.

Without trust in the rule of law, where do we go for justice?

Postulate that this creep gets away with it, and somebody commits a vigorous assault on the person of the not very honorable Mr Grodner. Were I on that jury, there would be no conviction. That is not a good thing, and I am not being glib when I write this. It would be better for society if this were dealt with properly, now.

I'll take a look at dude's new book, but this tweet isn't promising. Watts is a self-aggrandizing extremist whose easily debunked smears have done a lot of damage to her own cause. Also, within pro-gun-control circles everyone knows she's toxic, & Busse surely knows this.

Ryan Busse@ryandbusse

It’s time for reasonable gun owners to cry bullshit on those who demonize good people like @shannonrwatts who are just fighting to make the world better. As Shannon says…it’s also time to buy this book.
