Posting has been nearly non-existent this week because I'm currently sick with the world's worst cold/cough/sore throat/runny nose ailment.
Before "The Sickness" hit me full force I was able to attend a portion of Thursday's Grossmont Union High School District Board meeting where Hoystory The Elder (aka "Mr. Wonderful") was sworn in.

Note to board member Jim Kelly: This means you're not allowed to use the photo in your political hit pieces without paying me.
On a somewhat amusing note, Kelly (who was re-elected) and his hand-picked colleague, new board member Robert Shield were originally going to be (ceremonially) sworn in by a local GOP politico. Hoy The Elder, despite now being a politician is not particularly fond of politicians, decided to have is son-in-law, Pastor Ronnie Short, swear him in.
Now, I don't know if the GOP politician had to cancel at the last minute or had something else come up, but at Thursday's meeting Kelly and Shield suddenly had the pastor of a local church swearing them in.
The silly political machinations -- even at the school board level -- continue to astound.
