Flag desecration amendment fails in Senate

Yesterday a constitutional amendment that would give the Congress the power to ban flag desecration failed by a single vote.

Good.

Why?

Because I'm lazy and it's a heck of a lot easier to spot the idiots by watching them burning the flag than it is to listen to what they're saying.

Frankly, if Congress really wants to protect the flag from bozos, all they would have to do is pass a law that would make defending the flag an absolute defense to murder, manslaughter, assault or malicious wounding charges.
