Byron York over at National Review had an excellent debunking of Sen. Ted Kennedy's "study" of Judge Samuel Alito's decisions.

Especially amusing was these statements from Kennedy:

n an era when too many Americans are losing their jobs or working for less, trying to make ends meet, in close cases Judge Alito has ruled the vast majority of the time against the claims of the individual citizens. He has acted instead in favor of government, large corporations and other powerful interests.

...

To put it plainly, average Americans have had a hard time getting a fair shake in his courtroom.

Which brings us back to the title of the post.

I'd pay good money to see Judge Alito respond to Ted Kennedy thusly:

"Senator Kennedy, I agree with you that there are occasions when average Americans don't get a fair shake from our justice system. In fact, I'm reminded of the case of Mary Jo Kopechne, a young woman who drowned when a powerful, well-connected man drove his car off a bridge and left her to die. I believe that the fact that this man never faced justice to be a travesty of the law."

It'll never happen, but it'd be great to see the blowhard from Massachusetts sputtering with rage.
