I must confess that I'd abandoned watching "This Week" shortly after they changed the format and got rid of the roundtable segment. The only realy reason I tuned in most Sundays was to hear what George Will had to say. I don't know if the roundtable segment is back as a permanent feature, but they did have one yesterday and it included this gem:

George Stephanopolous: Rahm [Emanuel, D-Ill.], every single thing I've heard about this debate prep says that President Bush has John Kerry's voting record down cold, to throw it out from the podium...

Cokie Roberts: That's hard. *laughs*

Rahm: I'm going to let that one go. What was the question, George?

I'm going to have to start watching more often.

One other thing to note, and it was an excellent question posed by Bush-Cheney media consultant Stuart Stevens: "Does anybody really think that if he [Kerry] was 10 points ahead, he would've changed his position on the war this week?"

It echoes the point made below that Kerry's problem is that he appears to take whatever position he believes polls best at that particular moment. That's not leadership, that's following.
