When the last installment of the Rings trilogy, "The Return of the King," comes out next week, I'll be watching it in the theater. But the actor who plays Gollum, Andy Serkis, is officially on my list. If there was any doubt that Hollywood celebs live in their own arrogant, elitist self-worshiping world, this is it.

Asked what he would do if he had the all-powerful but corrupting ring that is the focus of the trilogy, Serkis said "I would banish all religions first of all."

Well, at least he's in character -- and a perfect example of author J.R.R. Tolkien's assessment of absolute power and godless men.
