So, David Brooks goes on MSNBC yesterday and says that a he sat next to a GOP Senator at a dinner party and... (via Newsbusters)
DAVID BROOKS, NEW YORK TIMES: You know, all three of us spend a lot of time covering politicians and I don't know about you guys, but in my view, they're all emotional freaks of one sort or another. They're guaranteed to invade your personal space, touch you. I sat next to a Republican senator once at dinner and he had his hand on my inner thigh the whole time. I was like, ehh, get me out of here.
JOHN HARWOOD, CNBC/NEW YORK TIMES: What?
BROOKS: I can only imagine what happens to you guys.
NORAH O'DONNELL, MSNBC: Sorry, who was that?
BROOKS: I'm not telling you, I'm not telling you.
If I've got to guess, I'd say it was Jim "Wide Stance" Jeffords Larry "Wide Stance" Craig -- now an ex-senator.
However, the bigger question is this: What the heck is up with David Brooks that he would let some guy put his hand on his inner thigh for an entire dinner? There isn't a guy in this world I would let put his hand on my inner thigh for more than a fraction of a second -- at which time he would lose his hand.
I'm not sure who the bigger freak is, the unnamed senator or the New York Times columnist.
Correction: Wrong wacko Senator. Thanks John for the heads-up.

I believe that was former Senator Larry Craig.
Sorry, I don't believe it happened. Brooks is very good at imaginary history.
