What Barack giveth, Abel taketh away

Abel Maldonado, a Republican from Santa Maria, provided the deciding vote to pass the largest tax increase in California history earlier today. Once again, the Sacramento Bee's tax calculator is here. You can see for yourself that the $13 a week that you'll start seeing in your paycheck come June from the modest federal tax cut will likely be more than offset here in California by the higher taxes passed this morning.

Will Californians be ticked off enough by the stupidity in the way the state is run to toss the bums out in a couple years?

Don't hold your breath.

This is clever framing to preserve the narrative without actually touching what’s at stake.

Here’s what the poll actually says:

📊 37% say abortion should be “always legal” (preserving Roe)
📊 60% say there should be limits on abortion (which would overturn Roe) https://twitter.com/meetthepress/status/1525821101749714944

BUT abortion is now center stage:

60% say abortion should be legal all or most of the time — the highest ever in our polls — versus 37% who say it should illegal all or most of the time.

And abortion has now become the TOP issue for single-issue voters.
