Via Jim Geraghty comes a buried lede in an Associated Press dispatch regarding Rod Balgojevich-appointed Sen. Roland Burris:
[Burris] also said he closed his 2002 campaign for governor without repaying a $1.2 million loan to a businessman who also made contributions to Blagojevich. Burris, a former state attorney general, said he'd never been asked to repay the money.
Apparently that's legal in Illinois -- but it sure doesn't sound ethical.
The story also leaves out the most important fact: What is this businessman's name and how can one go about getting a loan that you're not expected to pay back.
