Random thoughts

I'm more than a little steamed by the looney left and the mainstream media (but I repeat myself) and their treatment of Gov. Sarah Palin and her family.

Case in point, the wonderful Democrats at DailyKos: [not a link to the sewer]

"If health insurance for all, an end to the Iraq War, an end to torture and illegal wiretapping, and a sane energy policy can be obtained at the price of destroying one teenage girl, her family, and the surrendering our self-respect I see that as a cheap trade."

And:

"Are you telling me that you would not use character-destroying lies to ensure a war against Iran does not occur? . . . What choice do we have? When faced with monsters, we have to be monstrous ourselves."

And:

Are you telling me you would not destroy the love a family holds for one another, even if it meant letting someone who would destroy the constitution become president?

And the media hasn't performed much better.

A humorous note from the Instapundit: "HOW THEY COULD HAVE KEPT THE PALIN PREGNANCY STORY OUT OF THE PRESS: Leaked it that John Edwards was the father . . . .."

Also funny: www.palinfacts.com

  • Sarah Palin uses French Canadians as bait to catch giant king salmon.
  • When Sarah Palin booked a flight to Europe, the French immediately surrendered.

  1. I think the following anecdote sums up the MSM view on this election. From a Howard Kurtz column, Campbell Brown defends her aggressive questioning of a McCain press spokesman (nothing wrong with that), saying "Experience is a legitimate issue when John McCain raises it about Obama, and it's also legitimate for us to raise it about Palin."

Notice the not-so-subtle implication. McCain is on his own when it comes to raising questions about Obama, but we (the media) will be out in front in raising questions about the Republican nominee for Vice-President.

  2. How many more times before the election will we hear the phrase "A hearbeat away from the presidency"? (code for McCain is old and about to die any moment)

Or the new trend, McCain "angry" about media questions about Palin (code for McCain has a hot temper, and, therefore, we do not want his finger on the button when Russia invades a neighboring country/U.S. ally).
