Actor Sean Penn has endorsed flying-saucer boy.

On a somewhat related note, the story notes Penn's next film will be "Milk," -- not the kind that does a body good.

Penn is slated to star in the Gus Van Sant movie "Milk," the biography of the San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk who, along with Mayor George Moscone, was shot and killed in November 1978 by another supervisor, Dan White.

I was flipping channels earlier this evening and on A&E they had a brief recap of the "Twinkie Defense" murder of Milk and Moscone as part of an "American Justice" program on unusual defenses. I got a little chuckle out of the description of Milk as a liberal who wanted to reach out to the "disenfranchised, like the elderly."

The elderly? Disenfranchised? Since when?
