It just writes itself

I go to work and Sen. John Kerry continues his meltdown.

The smart thing to do is to issue the following statement:

In a lame attempt to make a joke at the president's expense I misspoke. I am sorry. I never intended to insult our troops in uniform serving in Iraq. I hope they will accept my apologies.

The dumb thing to do is to issue this statement. Which includes this gem:

Well, everybody knows it's not working this time, and I'm not going to stand around and let it work. If anyone thinks that a veteran, someone like me, who's been fighting my entire career to provide for veterans, to fight for their benefits, to help honor what their service is, if anybody thinks that a veteran would somehow criticize more than 140,000 troops serving in Iraq and not the president and his people who put them there, they're crazy.

Why would someone think that Kerry would "somehow criticize more than 140,000 troops serving in Iraq"?

I would like to talk, representing all those veterans, and say that several months ago in Detroit, we had an investigation at which over 150 honorably discharged and many very highly decorated veterans testified to war crimes committed in Southeast Asia, not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command....

They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.

Karl Rove really cranked up those mind control rays.

When Democrats fail to take the House and Senate next week, they'll have the junior senator from Massachusetts to thank.

  1. Somehow, the media outside of Fox believes Kerry is just a bad joke teller.

However, who tells jokes about the war in Iraq? What is so goddamn funny?

And if he wasn't telling a joke (which he is really bad at doing when he gets the punchline right), what was he saying?

I believe that Kerry WAS mocking the troops. Why? Because in 1971 he said that the troops in Vietnam were rapists and war criminals. Because in 2004 he said that he voted for $87 billion for the troops before he voted against it. And because in 2005 he said that US troops in Iraq were "terrorizing" Iraqi women and children.

That is called a PATTERN. And it is a pattern of mockery and disrespect.

I for one would like to see a veteran go up to Kerry and tell him to his face that he is a piece of shit. And I would like to have a camera there to record Kerry's facial expression. I for one would pay to see that.

  2. [...] OK…I’ll post it again.
