Do you know who I am?

If anyone ever asks you that question, then you know you've got trouble. Why? Because that person is obviously a better, more important human being than you are.

Surprisingly, the party that likes to portray itself as defending the little guy is the one that is too often the most contemptuous of the working man.

A few years ago you had Rep. Patrick Kennedy assaulting an airport security agent. During the 2004 presidential campaign Sen. John Kerry cussed out a Secret Service agent (one of those peons who would jump in front of a bullet for him) after the agent accidentally clipped him while skiing.

Then this past week you had Democrat Rep. Cynthia McKinney -- someone of privilege, despite the assumed victimhood of her being a black woman -- slug a police officer after she breached security while not identifiying herself. In a Friday press conference, McKinney's lawyer, predictably, played the race card.

Her lawyer, James W. Myart Jr., said, "Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, like thousands of average Americans across this country, is, too, a victim of the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials because of how she looks and the color of her skin."

"Ms. McKinney is just a victim of being in Congress while black," Myart said. "Congresswoman McKinney will be exonerated."

If there's anyone in American politics today who should be censored, it's Cynthia McKinney. Her behavior is disgusting, and the only thing more disgusting is House Democratic Leader Nancy "Culture of Corruption" Pelosi's refusal to rebuke McKinney.

This is a situation that both parties face periodically, and neither handles it very well. If Pelosi wants the public to seriously believe that Democrats represent change, then she'd better start policing her own.

  1. Cynthia's a racist anti-semite, like her Dad, Billy, who never fails to accuse others of racism when requested that they play by the rules all others adhere to. Sick and disgusting she keeps getting re-elected to the same racist district

  2. I believe the guard should sue Mr. Myart. Not being a lawyer, I don't know if it's libel, slander or defamation but the comments are an attack on the character of the security service. What Mr. Myart says in court should be free from any such threat, but a news conference is not court. Mr. Myart is not above the law.

  3. "Do you know who I am?" I believe John Kerry has quite the reputation around Boston for using that line so often over the past 30 years.

  4. I thought the Captain put it rather well: "Until the Democrats and their allies start condemning McKinney's demagoguery and exploitation of racial tensions intended on distracting people from her status as an arrogant, egotistical idiot, we can't take anything they say on security seriously."
