Four more years

I'm not talking about the term starting Jan. 20, 2005, for George W. Bush. The barking moonbats over at Daily Kos, completely nuts with the defeat of John Kerry, have suggested a "tactic" to continue their attacks on Bush's legitimacy.

Second, gut any Bush hopes for legitimacy. Find the places in Florida and Ohio and every other state where a plausible argument for Republican vote fraud can be made. It doesn't matter whether it did happen or not. What matters is if it can be plausibly alleged to marginal Bush supporters and to the media. We also have to let the issue go where it's implausible. Hammering on voter fraud where it's not at least plausible on that level is only going to hurt our credibility. We have to sink our fangs into Republican ankles and hang onto them for dear life on the legitimacy issue. We have to make him "Bush the only American President who was never elected" whether it's true or not.

OK, so if Bush was "never elected," then the 22nd Amendment offers Bush a third term.

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term. [emphasis added]

If Bush wasn't elected in 2000 or 2004, then he's obviously serving someone else's term now and come 2005 he'll again be serving someone else's term -- so a third one is definitely a possibility.

Moonbats, beware of what you wish for, you may just get it.
