60 Minutes, softball style

It's still sitting on my TiVo, so I'll hopefully watch it when my vacation hits next week, but two Sundays ago CBS newsmagazine "60 Minutes" interviewed the two remaining Democratic hopefuls for president.

The interview was so devoid of probing or difficult questions, that even the Columbia Journalism Review had a hard time holding their noses.

[Sen. John] McCain might want to make time for 60 Minutes after all. If Clinton’s and Obama’s interviews are any indicator, the questions are more likely to be pointless — even painless — than pointed.

It would be interesting to see if CBS takes a different tack with a Republican than they do with Democrats.
