From today's "Best of the Web Today" we get the following highlights from an appearance by Howard Dean on yesterday's "Meet the Press."

On "Meet the Press" yesterday Howard Dean had this exchange with host Tim Russert:

Russert: And what about this pay from the special interests five times for speeches?

Dean: In 12 years I think I got about $15,000 or something like that for giving speeches. That's less than $1,000 a year.

By our calculations, $15,000 divided by 12 years comes to $1,250 a year, which is more than $1,000 a year. Dean also offers this complaint:

More than half of the money from the Medicare prescription drug bill is ending up in the pharmaceutical companies and the insurance companies. That's not what this country's about.

If the money supposed to buy insurance and prescription drugs, where does Dean expect it to "end up"?
