OpinionJournal.com's James Taranto reports today that DemocraticUnderground.com may have convinced him that Jimmy Carter did deserve a Nobel Peace Prize because: "Okay, so the late seventies were dreary. Is that any reason to begrudge a man his Nobel? People were tired; the previous fifteen years had been feverish. And Jimmy Carter was, to the public, a nice man you didn't have to think too much about."
If this is what qualifies for a Peace Prize -- then Silent Cal should be posthumously awarded one. At least, I think it's posthumous -- maybe Cal just has nothing to say.
