Lies, damn lies, global warming

If you haven’t yet been over to Anthony Watts’ site to read this piece by Willis Eschenbach I really do encourage you to check it out. It’s rather long, but Eschenbach demonstrates what climate “scientists” are really saying when they talk about “value-added data.”

Eschenbach demonstrates that climate scientists are real fans homogeneity – they average weather station data even when it makes no sense to do it.

We have five different records covering Darwin [Australia] from 1941 on. They all agree almost exactly. Why adjust them at all? They’ve just added a huge artificial totally imaginary trend to the last half of the raw data! Now it looks like the IPCC diagram in Figure 1, all right … but a six degree per century trend? And in the shape of a regular stepped pyramid climbing to heaven? What’s up with that?

Those, dear friends, are the clumsy fingerprints of someone messing with the data Egyptian style … they are indisputable evidence that the “homogenized” data has been changed to fit someone’s preconceptions about whether the earth is warming.

They continue to insist that the science is settled and we can trust the data, but then why have they been hiding the data for more than a decade? The answer is obvious; the torturing they’ve been doing to the raw data makes waterboarding look like a waterslide ride.

P.S. You still can’t trust Al Gore.
