I got done listening to NPR's Intelligence Squared U.S. debate podcast on the motion: "Major Reductions in Carbon Emissions Are Not Worth the Money" on the drive home from work. The debate featured Bjorn Lomborg, author of "The Skeptical Environmentalist" as one of three  people arguing for the motion.

The debate was very interesting. To listen to opponents of the motion, it would appear that renewable energy (wind, solar, geothermal) are much cheaper than the traditional fossil fuels model and the only reason we burn fossil fuels is because we hate furry woodland creatures and other living things.

But the line of the night came from L. Hunter Lovins of those against the motion who stated that she was "for nuclear energy" as long as it was "remote-sited, 93 million miles away." In other words, she's all for the Sun continuing to exist.
