First, The Washington Post:
There was cleavage on display Wednesday afternoon on C-SPAN2. It belonged to Sen. Hillary Clinton.
She was talking on the Senate floor about the burdensome cost of higher education. She was wearing a rose-colored blazer over a black top. The neckline sat low on her chest and had a subtle V-shape. The cleavage registered after only a quick glance. No scrunch-faced scrutiny was necessary. There wasn't an unseemly amount of cleavage showing, but there it was. Undeniable.
The story includes a screen capture from C-SPAN2.
Ewwww.....
Yes, it's another gem by Pulitzer Prize-winning critic Robin Givhan, last seen on this site wearing an ugly pink dress. Every time a Givhan article appears, the average IQ of Post staffers and readers goes down.
The New York Times also did a bad thing this week -- they published a review of the latest Harry Potter book on Thursday. I won't link to that review. I won't link to any spoilers, my copy should arrive via UPS this morning.
I will say this for newspapers everywhere: There is absolutely no reason to rush out with reviews of this book. You'd be doing all of your readers a favor if you didn't publish a review until next weekend. Harry Potter fans may take a few days to read the book and will be annoyed if they accidentally get any plot spoilers from your review. Those who aren't Harry Potter fans aren't hurt in the least by waiting a week to read the reviews before they decide whether or not to buy the book.
Not that anyone will be listening to me.

Are you kidding? The NYT will leak whatever information they have as quickly as they can, whether it endangers national security or the security of next semesters final exams at Hogwarts.
