More AP problems

The New York Post has a brief, but troubling, article on a series of Associated Press wire stories on the efforts of convicted cop-killer Judith Clark to get a new trial. Miller Clark was convicted in the deaths of three police officers during the 1981 Brinks heist in Nyack, N.Y.

As the story was updated throughout the news cycle, the AP described Miller Clark first as:

a "former freedom fighter."

The next version changed that to:

"a former black separatist" [for the record, she is caucasian]

And finally:

"a former radical activist"

Nope, she's a cop-killer and the efforts to sugarcoat that fact are disgusting.

Journalism. Wound. Self-inflicted.

*UPDATE* Sorry, thinking about the Libby trial had me putting Judith and Miller together.
