At least he still has a job

The Washington Post's hateful hitman has decided, with the help of his editors, that maybe he ought to just shut up. William Arkin has posted a second follow-up to his idiotic screed against the U.S. military.

I'll save you the burden of reading it. It consists wholly of "woe is me, the evil right-wingers are demonizing me and hurting my feelings."

The same guy complaining of demonization is the one who suggested that the U.S. armed forces are on the verge of staging a military coup.

Yep, Arkin can dish it out, but he can't take it.

As far as the Post and its hiring practices go, it says something about that company that Arkin still has a job.

Do you believe that if a Post blogger had stated that Islam is a dangerous, hateful death cult that is a danger to freedom and civilization that he'd still have a job?

Do you believe that if a Post blogger had suggested that all homosexuals are depraved pedophiles and should be shunned that he'd still have a job?

Yet Arkin can get away with calling American troops stupid, intolerant, torturing fascists and all he gets is a slap on the wrist and an admonition that maybe he ought to stop writing about that particular subject.

*On a related note:* Iowahawk has an Equal Time piece up (containing PG-13 language) that is well worth reading on the subject "Should Washington Post Military Analyst William Arkin Be Beaten Like the Repulsive Sack of S*** He Is?"
