That's what all my friends say

Via Instapundit comes this bit of falsehood in an Associated Press story.

The United States is no longer bound by Kyoto, which the Bush administration rejected after taking office in 2001.

For the record, the United States was never bound by Kyoto because the Clinton administration never sent it to the Senate for ratification after a Senate, in an advisory vote, rejected the treaty -- 95-0.

But, you start to believe this garbage when all your friends keep saying it and it's repeated as gospel on lefty blog sites.

  1. Now that the Democrats are in control of the US Senate, how about they take a vote on supporting Kyoto? After all, they have the votes to at least show a majority of the Senate wants it, if that's what would happen. It would be symbolic only, but, then again, Dems are not against symbolic shit, such as voting against the Iraq war without cutting off funds for the troops.

However, I bet that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi know that they won't get a majority vote in either house with that. And then they will look like the phony baloneys that they truly are.
