The pro-dictator/commies at Code Pink started their three day march against the war yesterday from Oceanside to San Diego. They managed to get two dozen marchers. (Reports I heard only put the number at 12 -- either way, it's wholly unimpressive.)

The quotes, however are priceless. They like to claim that they are members of the "reality-based community" -- but what comes out of their mouths betray their alternative universe.

"I don't think people are forgetting there is a war on," said Chuck Lowery, co-director of North County Coalition for Peace and Justice. "As the discussion of the draft becomes more intense, we are finding more and more young people are attending our meetings. People haven't forgotten."

The discussion of the draft has become more intense? It's died down to nearly nothing now that the election is over and Democrats have nothing to gain from fearmongering.

Organizers of the event placed 224 pink crosses in the sand for every Marine from Camp Pendleton and Miramar Marine Corps Air Station who has been killed in the past two years in Iraq.

"Those numbers are going to rise rapidly at some point and we don't want people to forget what is happening over there," said Tiffany Burns, a spokeswoman from CODEPINK.

I'm curious as to what future Burns sees where those numbers would "rise rapidly." The casualty rate this month is the lowest its been since February 2004.

Though rain is in the forecast, Lt. Smash and the Protest Warriors still have a counter-protest picnic scheduled for Saturday in Balboa Park.
