New York Times hack Paul Krugman has come back from his work on a economics textbook (it is unclear whether he is writing one or reading one) to warn about the horrors of making any changes to Social Security. On Tuesday, Krugman denied that there even is a crisis looming for the program as Baby Boomers near retirement age.
I've largely stopped bashing Krugman for two reasons. First, he so seldom writes anything original anymore -- he's got about four different columns and all he does is move a few of the words around. Second, Donald Luskin often does a much better job than I do of slicing and dicing Krugman's "arguments" into little pieces.
As for Social Security, Krugman's ostrich imitation is so tiring. He can't seriously believe it -- he's a nut, not an idiot.
For further analysis of Krugman's dishonesty, read this, this and this.
