I'm not going on a summer trip, but for those who are interested in Yosemite, CNN has a good article on climbing Half Dome. I would like to emphasize a point made in the article for those of you who ever want to make the trek: take gloves. I don't mean nice white dress gloves. I mean thick leather work gloves. The steel cables that are used for the last portion of the climb will rip your hands to shreds.
