If you click on the link in the item below, you'll find that New York Times columnist Paul Krugman maliciously and deceptively misquoted former presidential press secretary Ari Fleischer. Krugman turned comments chiding a Republican congressman for a bigoted comment against Sikhs and Bill Maher's infamous characterizations of the 9/11 hijackers as brave and Americans as cowardly, into an attempt to stifle free expression.
There's no correction in Tuesday's Times, but there is a prominent letter to the editor from Fleischer setting the record straight. It's a correction that's not labeled as a correction.
A real correction should be made -- probably at the bottom of Krugman's next column -- but I'm not holding my breath for it.
