Pennsylvania poll update

I criticized CNN earlier for putting up a useless poll in the GOP Senate primary in Pennsylvania. The poll in question had a margin of error of +/- 10 points. For those of you who are interested, a SurveyUSA poll can be found here. It has incumbent Arlen Specter leading challenger Pat Toomey by only […]

A correction?

Well, it doesn't look like a correction. It doesn't really sound like a correction, but it may be something correctionish. Today's Paul Krugman column has the following note at the bottom. A Yawngate update: CNN called me to insist that despite what it first said, the administration really, truly wasn't responsible for the network's claim […]

What a nearly-useless poll

I'm watching the replay of CNN's "The Capitol Gang" and they've put up a Philadelphia Daily News/Keystone poll on the GOP Senate primary race between incumbent Arlen Specter and Rep. Pat Toomey. The poll of "likely Republican voters" has Specter ahead 46 percent to 33 percent. However, the margin of error is 10 (TEN!) points. […]

Opinion or lie?

New York Times columnist Paul Krugman is making a pretty serious accusation. In his latest column, Krugman claims that the Bush administration somehow "got" to CNN. You can find a news story about the incident here. Two things. First, I'm curious to see what CNN's response to this accusation will be. After all, a New […]

Christians in the newsroom

Hopefully this will mark the end of this bit of silliness that Christians should be banned from mainstream journalism and independent groups should be discouraged from urging Christians from going into journalism. Michaelagelo Signorile, in a column for the New York Press, follows in the dubious footsteps of Atrios and the Daily Kos to attack […]

Dream job

I'm not talking about the ESPN show of the same name. Nope, I'm talking about my dream job -- getting paid for doing this. Writing about what I want. Maybe publishing two columns a week for a major newspaper. I hope that this is training for that eventual day. That being said, when your job […]

Clarke on Russert

Bestselling liar Richard Clarke appeared Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press." Most of host Tim Russert's questioning wasn't much different than what Clarke faced before the 9/11 commission. Russert's questioning was largely disappointing. He was much tougher on former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean when he appeared on the program. Setting that aside, when Clarke left […]

Christians in the newsroom

LAObserved has extended the story regarding the bogus brouhaha when it was revealed that former USA Today reporter/fabricator Jack Kelley was *gasp* a Christian. One target of the not-so-tolerant left's shotgun-style attack was Los Angeles Times reporter Roy Rivenburg, who had the bad luck to be identified as a World Journalism Institute lecturer and be […]

Covering for Krugman

New York Times Paul Krugman's latest column was published today and there's no note of his malicious misquote of former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer. Apparently Fleischer's letter to the editor will be the closest the Times' comes to really correcting the record. It's curious though that today's op-ed page does contain a correction and […]
