This is funny

The people of Modesto, Calif., got a sinking feeling when they read the Los Angeles Times last Saturday. Peterson verdict — An article Saturday in Section A about the murder conviction of Scott Peterson said Modesto was 90 miles west of San Francisco. Modesto is about 80 miles southeast of San Francisco. Heh.

Quote of the Day

Today's honor goes to National Review's Jonah Goldberg for this gem: ... Jane Smiley, a woman who couldn't catch a clue if you used one as a pestle and her brain pan as the mortar. B-E-A-utiful.

For sale on eBay

Some wag is selling off Michael Moore's relevance in the wake of President Bush's victory on Tuesday. One of the nice things about eBay is that questions to the seller can be posted along with their responses regarding the product. Q: Do we get the entire Michael Moore? And if so, how much will shipping […]

Scary Halloween pics

Instapundit has one that he thinks will scare some people. I have a photo that will scare others. Go out and vote Tuesday. [Yes, the cut-and-paste job is pretty poor. I'm just not going to spend a lot of time on something like this.]

Bush that we would all like to hear: (1) My opponent, Massachusetts senator John Kerry--or, as I like to think of him, Teddy Kennedy with […]

This is funny

Tonight's vice-presidential debate is still more than an hour away, but some people have taken National Review's Jim Gerghaty's advice and used the Democrat Party Web page to send silly e-mails lauding John Edwards' performance in tonight's debate. One individual sent their e-mail off to their local Ohio paper and have already received a profanity-laden […]

The Ig Nobel awards are out

Go here to see a list of winners. My favorite was the Psychology winner -- a study entitled "Gorillas in Our Midst." For demonstrating that when people pay close attention to something, it's all too easy to overlook anything else -- even a man in a gorilla suit. The site has links to the video […]

Sunday morning moment of the week

I must confess that I'd abandoned watching "This Week" shortly after they changed the format and got rid of the roundtable segment. The only realy reason I tuned in most Sundays was to hear what George Will had to say. I don't know if the roundtable segment is back as a permanent feature, but they […]

I'd like to be the first ...

to question the timing of this hurricane. It's obviously part of a Democratic plan to divert attention from the Republican National Convention.
