It should really go without saying that the book is better. It's not possible to squeeze everything in the 500 page book, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," into a 2 hour movie, so something's got to get left on the cutting room floor.
All in all, I think the decisions were good. The only scene that I really wanted to see on film and didn't get to was the Weasley Bros. Instant Swamp. The sequence of the final battle between Harry's friends and Voldemort's Death Eaters is also condensed -- I think trying to directly translate Rowling's rather twisted and complicated final battle to film would've been a disaster.
Special effects have always been a part of the Potter films, but this time they truly went the extra mile.
Imelda Staunton does an excellent job bringing the prim and maddeningly blinkered Dolores Umbridge to life.
The film certainly doesn't disappoint and is well worth seeing a time or two.
