"NBC Nightly News" Anchor Brian Williams wins for this observation:
Williams [appearing from London's Heathrow airport]: "And that, Chris, that last aspect, the willingness to take one's own life -- I always tell people there are guys on our team like that, too. They're called Army Rangers and Navy Seals and the Special Forces folks and the first responders on 9/11 who went into those buildings knowing, by the way, they weren't going to come out. So we have players like that on our team."
Let's leave aside for the moment that Rangers, Seals and other Special Forces don't go on missions with the goal of killing themselves.
Where is Williams' moral compass pointing when he equates terrorists who desire to kill as many innocent people as they can with American servicemen whose goal is to protect those innocent lives.
Are some in the mainstream media on the terrorists' side? Yes. Is Williams? Well, I think it's safe to say that he's not on America's side.
