As NRO's Stephen Spruiell noted earlier this week, The New York Times screwed up, accusing the Bush administration of violating a non-existent court order. I alerted Spruiell that Editor & Publisher had repeated the Times' error. Unlike the Times, E&P has not made a correction.
Yesterday, the falsehood spread when Fark.com, a combination news-link site, bulletin board, and community site featured the E&P story on its front page -- sending tens, and possibly hundreds, of thousands of readers to the inaccurate story.
One wonders when "America's Oldest Journal Covering the Newspaper Industry" will do what others have done -- correct its error.
