At the very least, the government of Iraq is no longer systematically raping women; young girls need no longer worry about catching the eye of one of Saddam Hussein's evil sons.

Most would think these are good things -- unless you're more interested in making a political point at the expense of your credibility.

Enter Amnesty International.

Nearly two years after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, women there are no better off than under the rule of ousted dictator Saddam Hussein, the human rights group Amnesty International said on Tuesday.

In a report entitled "Iraq -- Decades of Suffering," it said that while the systematic repression under Saddam had ended, it had been replaced by increased murders, and sexual abuse -- including by U.S. forces.

This sort of rhetoric may make it easier to raise money from the America-hating left, but it also makes your organization less and less relevant to what your mission is supposed to be.
