What was very interesting to me about this issue was Al Franken's response to the revelation that the network's founders had decieved people as to how much money they had raised. That deception, according to Bainbridge, could constitute a violation of securities laws.
In a startup, says Mr. Franken, people often exaggerate what they have. Mr. Cohen, he says, "did just that, and somehow got us on the air. For that, I guess I owe him some gratitude."
Hmmm....if a conservative had done something similar, I suspect Franken wouldn't be so forgiving. Instead, he'd likely call them "lying liars."
