They may want to reconsider

Nintendo announced earlier this week that their next-generation console, code-named Revolution, will have a new name when it hits the market. The console will be named the Nintendo Wii. That's pronounced "Wee." Yeah, you see the problem. Player 1: "I've got an Xbox 360." Player 2: "I've gotta Wii." Player 1: "The bathroom's down the […]

Still not getting it

"United 93" hits the theaters this weekend, and it's gotten largely positive reviews. The movie review compilation site RottenTomatoes.com notes the movie, with a 93 percent positive rating, is the best-reviewed drama so far this year. Of course, there's that 7 percent who don't like the film. Among them is the Union-Tribune's own David Elliott. […]

You've got two feet -- use them

It seems that both Democrats and Republicans used the same Washington, D.C. station the other day for a photo op railing against high gas prices. The gas station is one block from a Senate office building. I know they're generally a bunch of old farts, but one block?

A Michigan State mechanical engineering professor is in hot water for "speaking truth to power." I.S. Wichman had the gall to criticize the university's Muslim Students Association as they protested the blasphemous Danish Muhammed cartoons. Dear Moslem Association: As a professor of Mechanical Engineering here at MSU I intened [sic] to protest your protest. I […]

A good judge

Let's give three cheers to Milwaukee County (Wisconsin) Circuit Judge Michael Brennan who today sentenced four Democrats to jail for slashing the tires of vehicles Wisconsin Republicans had rented to help get voters to the polls. "This case had to be a public example of what can happen when you interfere with voters' rights," said […]

Editor!

This guy got lucky: When the truck he was working on fell off the jack, the local football team happened to be there to lift the truck off him. However, someone needs to send a dictionary to the Associated Press in Illinois: Officials say Marsh was pinned Saturday morning when the pick-up fell off a […]

Lethal stupidity

That just about describes today's New York Times editorial railing against the use of lethal injection for the death penalty. We believe that the death penalty is in all cases unconstitutional ... Because the world's hardest substance is the skull of a New York Times editorial writer. The editorial bases its constitutional argument on the […]
