Now I feel better

The United Nations has OK'd a treaty that makes it illegal for terrorists to "to possess or threaten to use nuclear weapons or radioactive material." Boy, that's going to save us quite a bit of money. No need for all that Homeland Security spending.

The rest of the story

An article in today's Union-Tribune -- that I'm sure appeared in similar form in papers across the country -- details a UN report that claims, well, I'll let you read it. Malnutrition among the youngest Iraqis has almost doubled since the U.S.-led invasion toppled Saddam Hussein, a hunger specialist told the U.N. human-rights body yesterday […]

More on the useless U.N.

An anonymous article on the U.N. officials and their "humanitarian" work in the wake of the south asian tsunami just shows how useless Jan Englund and his bunch are. What really irritated me was a scene I witnessed in the Lincoln’s wardroom a few days ago. I went in for breakfast as I usually do, […]

Would you like some cheese with that whine?

Today's Washington Post has a front-page article on the Bush administration's response to the earthquake and subsequent tsunami in the Indian Ocean. The Bush administration more than doubled its financial commitment yesterday to provide relief to nations suffering from the Indian Ocean tsunami, amid complaints that the vacationing President Bush has been insensitive to a […]

Useless U.N.

Sometimes the United Nations is even worse than useless. Today, U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan admitted what the news media has been reporting for a year -- that U.N. "peacekeepers" in the Congo have been sexually abusing women and children they were supposed to protect.

Useless U.N.

The New York Times' resident conservative, David Brooks, points out one of President Bush's "flip-flops." Bowing to calls from the Democrat Party and American "allies" around the world, in at least one instance the President has eschewed his unilateral foreign policy -- to the delight of liberal elites. Confronted with the murder of 50,000 in […]

Useless U.N.

I didn't catch President Bush's speech to the United Nations, but I just heard mention made of U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan's remarks just prior to Bush's speech. According to the report, Annan singled out Uganda, Sudan and Israel for being repeated violators of international law. Let's set aside Uganda and just focus on Sudan […]

The "international community"

The International Atomic Energy Agency, fresh off of a failure to get Iran to live up to international agreements it is a signatory to, is now going to press Israel to come clean about its nuclear status. Mohamed ElBaradei, the head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog, flew into Israel Tuesday for talks on ridding the […]

Two good reads

If you're not making the Wall Street Journal's Opinionjournal.com part of your daily reading list, you're missing out From yesterday we have Anne Bayefsky's speech to the useless United Nations that has finally discovered that there are a lot of anti-Semites in its midst. Today they have an excellent indictment of the politicization of the […]

Physician heal thyself

As tens of thousands are systematically killed in a racist pogrom in Sudan, the U.N. Commission on Human Rights (of which Sudan is a member) takes aim at the United States. GENEVA - The UN Human Rights Commission gave the U.S.-led coalition a mixed review Friday on its performance in Iraq, lauding it for ending […]
