Recess appointments

James Cole as the No. 2 in the Department of Justice seems to be the one gaining the most attention of the six recess appointees President Obama installed earlier this week. Daniel Foster over at NRO has some of Cole’s CV: Appointed as the Independent Consultant for American International Group, Inc., to exam its transactions […]

Holiday reading

Here’s some links that I’ve had up in my browser window for a few days: Surprise, Obamacare costs more, helps fewer than originally predicted The announced expectations was that it would attract 375,000 people by the end of the year.  It has only 8,000 enrollees, which means it missed its mark by 97.9%.  If any […]

Anthony Kennedy’s big lie

I’ve been outraged about the infamous Kelo decision ever since it came down. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, the Supreme Court in a 5-4 decision construed the “public use” clause of the Fifth Amendment to include higher tax income. Before Kelo if the government was going to take property through eminent […]

I think it’s called projection

When Democrats assailed then-President George W. Bush over the prosecution of the war on terror or treatment of terrorists held at Gitmo, those of us on the right called them wrong, stupid, misguided, foolish and a variety of other unflattering names. One thing we didn’t do, was question Democrats’ patriotism. Of course, when you did […]

What to leak and what not to leak

When Wikileaks revealed thousands of documents relating to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars – and revealed the identities of locals there who had helped us, opening them up to possible retribution from terrorists – the Obama administration was rather mum and the media ran story after story, unconcerned about real about the foreseeable effects of […]

Bastard Duck Congress

Last week the Washington Post had an interesting article last week on the history behind the 20th Amendment. That amendment was designed end so-called lame duck sessions. Legislators and legislatures at the time believed that moving the date for installing a new Congress to early January would mean that defeated incumbents wouldn’t be doing any […]

This week’s sign(s) of the apocalypse

First, we have NPR’s infamous Nina Totenberg:   Well, these agencies, including the Defense Department, don't know how much money they've got and for what. And I was at – forgive the expression – a Christmas party at the Department of Justice and people actually were really worried about this. Yeah, forgive the expression “Christmas.” […]

Don’t trust journalists to do math–or taxes

Wyatt Emmerich is a publisher of a variety of small community newspapers in Mississippi. He exists and a recent column of his was in fact printed in a The Cleveland Current – a newspaper that he does not own. Having said all that, don’t have Emmerich do your taxes. Emmerich created the chart below to […]

Reid TKO’d

Sen. Harry Reid has abandoned the mess that was a porked-up $1.3 trillion omnibus spending bill. The bill included $1 billion in funding for Obamacare that won’t likely see the light of day in next year’s Congress along with $8 billion dollars in earmarks. I think the Nov. 2 election may have finally sunk in.

Amazing farewell for #DeltaIVHeavy st #VANDENBERG and great photos by @lwood83 @RC_FirePhoto and Matt Udkow https://www.noozhawk.com/article/vandenberg_sfb_bids_farewell_to_delta_iv_heavy_rocket

I tweeted a few days ago about what appeared to me to be a largely baseless charge of plagiarism made by @PhilWMagness. The evidence of plagiarism is more extensive than I was led to believe by the article I’d read about it. I’m deleting the tweets and I apologize to Mr. Magness.

I remember the 2009 Green Revolution in Iran where people were protesting for basic human rights. The Obama administration, including you as Secretary of State, never did anything to help them. And Biden won't do anything now, because he'd rather have a terrible nuke deal. https://twitter.com/HillaryClinton/status/1573069778021150722

Hillary Clinton @HillaryClinton

Iranians are protesting for their basic human rights in the aftermath of the horrific death of Mahsa Zhina Amini. Iranians deserve to live free from violence and intimidation. The world is watching.
